4 Article Marketing Success Tips
Article marketing is definitely one of the best internet marketing strategies for getting free traffic to your website that is targeted and looking for what you have to offer. It’s also a great way to increase your backlinks for SEO purposes. However, not everyone is successful with article marketing. In this post, I will explain what separates successful article marketing strategies from ones that don’t work so well.
Here are four article marketing success tips you can use to help your efforts pay off:
1) Treat your articles like a real marketing tool. You don’t want it to sound like an infomercial or a blatant advertisement, but you do need to understand that your article is doing more than just giving out free information. Your goal is to get the readers to click on your resource box link leading back to your website, and to get bloggers and website owners to republish the article on their sites.
2) Write a subject line that arouses curiosity and actually makes people want to read your article. For the most part, people will find your articles after doing a search on Google or another engines search. In other words, they won’t be able to see the whole article so they have to decide it they want to read it based on its headline and a short description. You want your headline to be interesting enough for people to click on it and start reading.
3) Your articles should be at least 400 words long. You will want to publish it on several article directories and a lot of them won’t publish articles that are shorter than 400 words. This makes sense anyway because you want people to feel like they learned something by reading your articles. You can’t get enough information in an article that’s less than 400 words. Make sure your articles are very informative and useful to the readers. Crappy articles will not help you at all and you’ll only be wasting your time writing them.
4) Make your bio box feel like part of the article. At the end of an ezine style article, there’s an author’s bio box. Although you can try to put links back to your website in the body of the article, not all directories allow that and it decreases the chances of other website owners republishing it on their sites. The place to put your link is in the bio box.
Don’t treat the bio box as an afterthought or something that’s not important. It’s really the most important part of the article and the reason you wrote it in the first place. Your bio box needs to fulfill the same function that a call to action does on a sales letter. This is really important so let’s spend some more time on it.
This is what you usually see on articles, but don’t want…
“Johnny Johnson is a lifelong dog lover who has spent countless hours learning everything there is to know about dogs.”
Okay, that was meant to be extra cheesy. But really if you look at it from your reader’s point of view, they are interested in themselves, not you. Unless you’re the inventor of something very sell-known or someone with a lot of authority in your given niche, who you are and what you’ve done isn’t all that important.
What’s important is that if you did a good job with your article, your reader should be thinking, “Hmm… That was some great information… I wonder what else this guy has to say about this topic.”
That’s the kind of response that will get them to click your bio link. That’s what we call “pre-selling” and that’s what article marketing is all about; pre-selling your reader so that they click through to your money page.
A better idea for the bio box would be to make it essentially just the last sentence in the article, with a text link embedded in it. Something like this would be better…

If certain article directories you are submitting to don’t allow text links (some don’t), then just include the whole address so that your reader can cut and paste it into their browser window.
You want the text link to be keyword anchored if possible. This will help a lot for SEO purposes and give you a boost in search engine rankings.
There’s really not much more to know about successful article marketing than what is explained above. These four tips will make this internet marketing technique work amazingly well for you. Apply these simple tips and the traffic will start rolling in!
Forum Marketing: Some Do’s and Don’ts
Forum marketing is one of the most popular internet marketing methods. This is especially true for the make money online niche. Highly successful online businesses have been built solely from participating in forums. However, there is an art to forum marketing. One wrong move could ruin your reputation and crush your online business or get you banned from your favorite forum. This post is going to give you some of the do’s and don’ts of forum marketing. Ignore these at your own risk as they could save your internet marketing career!
Let’s start with the things you shouldn’t do because these are the things that most people can’t seem to avoid doing for some reason. The first thing you should NEVER do is spam a forum. Most forums do not allow affiliate links in posts or blatant advertising of any kind. That means no posts where you’re either giving a link to one of your money making programs or directing other members to your signature. Spamming is one sure way of getting your posts deleted or getting banned from the forum altogether.
Another thing you want to avoid is arguing with other members, especially the moderators, admin, and the senior members who have been there a long time. It’s okay to get into debates on topics. There is nothing wrong with that at all. However, getting nasty and abusive is crossing the line and if you go too far, this can also get you banned quickly. In other words, learn to play nicely with others just as you do when you are with them in the real world.
Another big don’t is bragging about your income and accomplishments and then telling other members what they MUST do in order to be successful. When you start speaking in absolutes, you can run into problems with other members. For one thing, you’re giving information that is based solely on your own experience and may not apply to everybody else. It’s okay to give your opinion, but don’t preach it as gospel.
As for the things you should do when utilizing forum marketing, the main you really need to remember is to follow the forum rules and regulations. That means read them before you post and follow them when you do post. Many members don’t do this and it’s a HUGE mistake. You can’t possibly know how to conduct yourself at a particular forum if you don’t know what the rules are. If you’re not sure of something just ask. There is nothing wrong with asking a question. You only run into problems when you assume something is true when it isn’t.
Another thing you should always do is actually participate in the forum discussions. Answer questions when you can. Ask questions when you need to. Be a part of the community. Don’t be there just to get your signature link in front of people. That will not work! Forum marketing only works if you become a well-known and respected member of the forum. Eventually the other members will trust your opinion because you have proven yourself to give real and legitimate information.
If you follow these simple tips, you’ll find that your forum marketing experience will be a pleasant and profitable one. Not only that, you will ultimately end up making a lot of friends and some of them may end up playing a big part in future successes that you have, such as potential joint venture partners.
Don’t abuse the forums because they might just be the boost you need to bring your internet marketing business to the next level and can be a gold mine for you!
How to Survive in the PPC Jungle
Pay per click advertising, usually referred to as PPC, is a very popular form of internet marketing because it can be an incredible way to drive targeted traffic to your website and make money from it. At first glance it seems great because the only time you have to pay for your advertising is if somebody actually clicks on the ad.
Pay per click advertising looks so easy on the surface but there are numerous pitfalls to using PPC in your internet marketing business. In this post I will point out a few of those pitfalls and tell you how to get around them. Hopefully, after reading this, you’ll end up giving yourself the best chance of actually having success with your PPC campaign.
Probably the biggest pitfall to pay per click advertising is keyword selection. Too many beginning internet marketers don’t know how to properly choose keywords and end up bidding on keywords that drain their bank account very quickly. For example, let’s say somebody was selling a cure for acne. A typical keyword to target would be acne cure, or at least you would think so. But what if your cure was a natural one? If somebody was looking for a medical cure or didn’t believe in natural cures, seeing your sales page would probably not trigger a sale, whereas using the keyword phrase “natural acne cure” would. So keyword selection is very important for your PPC campaign, as well as just about any aspect of internet marketing.
Another pitfall of pay per click is geo-targeting. Most internet marketers don’t really give much thought to targeting their PPC campaign to a specific geographical location, but the truth is that running your ad all over the world is not a very good idea. The reason is simple. The world is made up of many different cultures and not all of them are going to be prospects for your particular offer. In some cases, only certain countries would be a viable target for an ad, depending on what the product is. So it’s important to know who your target market is and advertise only to that market.
Then, of course, there is how much people bid for their keywords and the position that they shoot for with their ads. So many beginning internet marketers think that they have to shoot for the number one position on the page. The truth is the top position is a breeding ground for freebie seekers and people who really aren’t ready to buy yet. They’re just starting their search. Lots of money can be wasted on the top position when you could do even better targeting positions 3-7.
Pay per click can be, without a doubt, one of the best forms of internet marketing. But these PPC pitfalls… keyword selection, geo targeting and ad position, along with so many others, can turn your pay per click campaign into a nightmare. That’s why it’s important to make sure that you get yourself a solid PPC education before venturing into pay per click advertising.
Internet Network Marketing – Is It Worth It?
Network marketing on the internet, or internet network marketing, is a great way for the average person to start a home business and potentially earn a very good income. Many successful internet marketers started their businesses through network marketing.
However, there is often a negative perception of network marketing in the eyes of many people because of all the hype that often accompanies it. I am sure you have seen some variation of these: “Make $100,000 a month in your spare time!” or “I made $5,000 my first week!” or “Check out my new Lamborghini I bought after just three months!” and all the other ridiculous claims you often see associated with MLM. There have also been some MLM scams that have ruined the reputation for all the legitimate network marketing businesses out there.
Those of us involved with internet network marketing know that some of these claims of extraordinary income are true but they are the rare exceptions to the rule rather than the norm. Just like in the offline business world, there are businesses that make Billions of dollars per year, but most don’t. The majority are small businesses that make good enough profits for their owners to live comfortably but not extravagantly.
The truth is that you can build a successful business and make a good living through internet network marketing but you won’t get rich quickly. Internet network marketing as a business isn’t very difficult, but it’s definitely not easy either. You will need to learn how to market on the internet, figure out a system for getting sales and other members to join, help your downline duplicate your success, and do many other things on a continual basis.
Internet network marketing is all about constantly getting your opportunity in front of a targeted audience and building relationships with prospects and recruits. You will basically be looking for business partners and a loyal customer base. But you really want to find super motivated and trainable people to join under you so you will make money from their efforts and decrease your work load.
There are many good network marketing companies out there that you can join to get started in internet marketing and making money online. You will have the best of both worlds by combining the power of the internet with traditional proven methods of marketing offline.
Using Article Marketing for Your Internet Business
If you are an internet marketer or the owner of any kind of internet business, you should know that it’s not how much traffic you get to your website that counts it’s the quality of traffic and percentage of conversions that matters. So in order to make money, you will need to target quality traffic or people who are already interested in what you have to offer. One of the best ways to do this is by using article marketing to your advantage.
Writing articles for free promotion on the internet is something that has been done by internet marketers for quite a while, but has gained huge popularity in the past few years. There are an almost unlimited number of article directories on the internet that you can submit your articles to. One of the best and most popular is EzineArticles.com
Most of these article directories will publish your articles for free, which gives you free publicity and free backlinks to your website. The only thing you have to be sure to do is to make sure you write quality and useful articles or nobody will want to read or republish them. You also want to make sure that articles are on topics related to your business so you know the people reading them will already be at least somewhat interested in your internet business.
For example; let’s say you own a dog website and you want to attract people who are interested in buying your ebook on dog training. You will write articles giving some dog training tips and other dog information, and submit them to article directories. Give them enough information to make it worth reading but keep them wanting more so they will click the link to your website and buy your dog training product.
Article marketing may sound difficult to you but it is not as hard as you think to write a quality article. This internet marketing method can be done over and over again to attract free targeted visitors to your website and help you make money online. I suggest you get started right now!
